Word From The President --
Announcing Our New CRM Referral Program |
Our
best source of business has traditionally been referrals from
existing clients and "friends of the family." We
have decided to formalize a referral program and provide the
kind of incentive that everyone likes - money.
Scheduled for official release on September 15th, our new
technology driven system will feature:
-
a web-based form for you to enter your referrals
- a
password-protected area for you to keep track of our progress
on each referral you have submitted
- a
substantial financial incentive for you once we close
each deal you've referred.
But,
don't wait 'til the 15th if you have a referral for us right
now. We can accept referrals manually until the system is
ready. We're looking for 300 Referring Partners, with the
usual 20% really actively working in the system. Anyway, that's
what we expect and we are well on our way to accomplishing
this. We still need you though.
The average Sage deal (and those are the ones we're really
targeting here) nets a referral fee on the order of $4,000.
So, we aren't fooling around.
By the way, we will include a short, relatively painless training
session so you know exactly what we are looking for and what
you should be looking for. I hope you take advantage of our
program.

Inserting
Custom Fields Into a Template
Our Doug Castell has come up with a powerful way
to add custom, user-defined fields to Sage CRM template
documents. He's composed a pdf with detailed instructions
and several screenshots to take you through the process. If

Displaying
Custom Field Views As Toolbar Menu Items

Bob Gannett of Harbornet via our Data Diva, Jill Messier:
If
you've added additional Field Views as GoldMine customizations,
you know that you can display those Views by right-clicking
under the Fields Tab and selecting the desired View or scrolling
to the second-tier of Tabs and selecting the View by its specific
Tab. There is a way to get to Views more quickly and efficiently,
however. Views can be added as Menu Items. They will be displayed
to the right of Help in the menu at the top of the
screen (as shown below).

This option needs to be enabled by a User with Master Rights.
Click File|Configure|Users' Settings. Select the
User for whom you'd like to add this feature. Click Properties.
Select the Menu Tab and click the Expand
button. Scroll down to the Record Details menu item
and click the Resize push pin to change it from green
to red. Click OK to close the Properties menu and
click Close to exit the Users' Settings window.
The
next time the User logs into GoldMine any Fields Views will
be displayed as menu items.

Want
an Easy Way to Share This Summer's Vacation Pictures? Try
OFOTO!
When
our Joel Scott recently returned from a trip to France and
England, he had a photo album ready for us to view his trip.
He claims it's a technique he learned from a crony at GoldMine.
He used OFOTO, a web based service (from
Kodak) that allows you to very easily create online photo
albums from your digital pictures. The site is thoughtfully
designed, you can get what you need quickly.
There
is a free download available
of their latest
software which you can use with any camera to easily print
pictures. There is also a way to purchase prints from online
albums. What a great way to share pictures with friends who
took the trip with you and who might want to get prints of
certain pictures from the album you posted!
